An Inconvenient Truth
Public screening

June 17, 2007

Thanks to a generous donor, our families and friends, as well as neighbors in the Argyroupoli suburb, saw Al Gore's award- winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth absolutely free absolutely free, on the big screen, on Sunday, June 17, 2007. The two showings 11 am and 1 pm -- were in English with Greek subtitles.

The event was held at Ciné Sophia (tel 210 991 7094) in the southern suburb of Argyroupoli, easily accessible by car or public transportation from anywhere in Athens.

Open to all, the event was sponsored Democrats Abroad Greece and HELADA, with participation by WWF-

Greece and International Nature Network. Yvette Jarvis, Mayor Kaklamanis's special advisor on immigration, was mistress of ceremonies. Attendees were invited to bring literature to promote their own non-profit causes.
Directions to Ciné Sophia: The theater is at Efstathiadi 2 just south of Plateia Iroon Polytechniou/Agia Triada church, opposite a branch of Alpha Bank. From Leoforos Vouliagmenis, take either the 2nd (Olympic Air sign) or 3rd Argyroupolis (Praktiker) exit and head uphill.
Set a good example by using public transit. The nearest bus stops are Iroon Polytechniou (in the plateia, lines B4, 101, 160, 201) and 5th Argyroupolis (on Kyprou, lines 154, A4, 140).
